ブルースのコトバ
Bruce Springsteen は作品 "Live / 1975-85" の収録作 "War" の前説として、こんな話を観客に向かって語り掛けています。
“・・・まぁ、６０年代に俺たちは成長してきたんだけど、戦争の話が毎晩ＴＶで流れていたんだ。その戦争っていうのは自分の友人なんかがまきこまれてた。まぁ、会場にいる若いみんなに、この話を教えてやりたいんだ。”
“俺も思い出すんだけど、１７か１８の頃、自分たちがいろんな事に対してどういう風に思っているかって考える余裕があまりなかったんだ。”
“この次、どういうことが起こるかわからないけれど、みんな、君らの事を見てるわけだし、自分たちが何をしたいかっていう事に対して、かなり情報をもたなければいけないと思うんだ。”
“そして、８５年だけれども、自分たちの指導者たちを盲目的に信頼しているとほんとに殺されるよ。”
“俺が何の事を言っているかというとそれは・・・”
"When we grew up in 60's, we grew up with a war on TV every night.
A war your friends were involved in.
And uh...I want to do this song for all the young people out there.
If you're in your teens...
I remember a lot of my friends when we were 17 or 18...we didn't have much of a chance to think about how we felt about a lot of things.
And uh...next time, they're gonna be looking at you and you're gonna want to do.
Because in 1985, blind faith in your leaders or anything is gonna get you killed.
